Copying And Pasting

When you "copy and paste" or "cut and paste" you are using a Windows program called "Clipboard".

What is the Windows Clipboard?

The Windows Clipboard is like a note pad available to Windows and all running programs. It allows pieces of information/data to be temporarily stored and then retrieved later by either the same or another application.

How To Copy and Paste:
  1. Highlight or select the text by:
    • To select a word, double click on the word using the left mouse button.
    • To select a sentence (or web address/URL), hold down "CTRL" and click on the sentence using the left mouse button.
  2. Then copy the text by:
    • Use the keyboard and press "CTRL" and "C".
    • OR

    • Use the left mouse button to click on "Edit" in the menu bar. Then select "Copy" in the drop down menu.
    • OR

    • Use the right mouse button and click on "Copy" in the menu or press "C" on the keyboard.
  3. Or cut text by:
    • Use the keyboard and press "CTRL" and "X".
    • OR

    • Use the left mouse button to click on "Edit" in the menu bar. Then select "Cut" in the drop down menu.
    • OR

    • Use the right mouse button and click on "Cut" in the menu or press "T" on the keyboard.
  4. And paste the text by:
    • Place the cursor in the position where you want the text either by using the arrows keys to navigate your way through the text or use the left mouse button to click and place the cursor in the position you want the pasted text to appear.
    • THEN

    • Use the keyboard and press "CTRL" and "V".
    • OR

    • Use the left mouse button to click on "Edit" in the menu bar. Then select "Paste" in the drop down menu.
    • OR

    • Use the right mouse button and click on "Paste" in the menu or press "P" on the keyboard.

Windows Clipboard Problems:

The Windows Clipboard has a few shortfalls:

  • Only one item is stored at a time.
  • Each new copy replaces the last.

Creating A Cool Header Logo For Your Blog

  1. Go to one of the following on-line logo generators and create a logo for the header of your blog.


  2. Save the generated image to your computer (easiest spot to save to is to your computers "Desktop" so you can find it easily again.)
  3. Then go to you blog (www.blogger.com) and sign in.
  4. Click on "Template".



  5. In the pop up window under the heading "Image" click on the radio button corresponding to "From your computer" and then click on the "Browse" button.



  6. Navigate your way to and select the image you saved to your computer in step 2.
  7. In the header box click on "Edit".



  8. Click on the "Open" button.



  9. Wait until the image is displayed in the pop up window and the option "Placement" appears.
  10. Under the heading "Placement" select the radio box corresponding to "Instead of title and description".




  11. Click on the "Save Changes" button.


Save the changes and view your blog to see the if it worked!
